Bunny Wrangler

Standard

My son done caught a wild rabbit with his bare hands.

He can add “Bunny Wrangler” to his c.v.

He was mowing the lawn and out popped this little guy. Spared him from a Toro Tragedy, a Honda Horror. He’s resting comfortably under some bush or in his den with his mama.

As for the bunny…?

We just released him.

He took about 10 hops to a cluster of hostas and vanished from sight.

Have a wonderful weekend wherever you are.

Thank you.

About Grass Oil by Molly Field

follow me on twitter @mollyfieldtweet. i'm working on a memoir and i've written two books thus unpublished because i'm a scaredy cat. i hail from a Eugene O'Neill play and an Augusten Burroughs novel but i'm a married, sober straight mom. i write about parenting, mindfulness, irony, personal growth and other mysteries vividly with a bit of humor. "Grass Oil" comes from my son's description of dinner i made one night. the content of the blog is random, simple, funny and clever. stop by, it would be nice to get to know you. :)

  1. Your timing is uncanny. I literally just came in from the backyard, muttering about how stupid the mama bunny back there is. I must have 10 baby bunnies under our playset slide. Did I mention I have a large black Lab? Aargh. I hope she raises those kids quickly:). And to top it off, they’re adorable.

    • aren’t they they cutest? omigash. that little guy was just as mellow as could be in my son’s hands. i held him / her (we didn’t check) on the tied sleeves of my sweater as they draped over my chest and s/he burrowed under one of the folds. took a nap.

so sweet. we let him go out of the sight of our cats and dogs. put him back in the neighbor’s yard where my son was mowing. so tender. all of it. i loved most of all seeing my big 16yo holding the micro life with such care and protection. that was the sweetest moment.
